Bullying and Harassment

Are you being bullied? Do you feel that you have no one to turn to? The Bullying and Harassment Support Group may be able to help.

The University of Salford is committed to providing an environment for work and study that is free from harassment and bullying and protects the right of everyone to be treated with dignity and respect.

As part of this commitment we have a trained network of staff volunteers to provide advice and guidance, on an informal and confidential basis, to any student or member of staff who feels they are being bullied or harrassed.

The Bullying and Harassment Advisor is there to:

  • listen carefully, allowing you the space and time to explore the things that concern you in a safe and confidential environment;
  • help you, to explore what action you feel you can take
  • provide guidance on the range of support services and options that are available to you, how these might work, and what your 'next steps' might be.

In other words, the Bullying and Harassment Advisor is there to help you help yourself. So, they will avoid:

  • Making a judgement about anyone's 'guilt', or
  • Carrying out any kind of investiagtion, or
  • Acting as your advocate inany way.
