Medical Centre - Registering with a GP
Students
The University Medical Centre provides a GP service on campus based in the Maxwell Building. You should register with them as soon as you are able by visiting the surgery on the third floor or the Medical Centre stand in the Marquee during Welcome. Details for the Medical centre are listed below.

As part of Welcome this year or as part as a Health check when you register with the Doctor you willbe offered the following vaccines:
- Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) and Meningitis C as part of their free registration health check . This is particularly important this year due to an increase in both measles and mumps in the local community in recent weeks.
- HPV (cervical cancer) vaccination (only for young women)
Students with families
If you are a student living in Matthias with a family, you can register the whole family at any of the following GP Surgeries:

International Students
International students on a full time course lasting 6 months or longer are entitled to free NHS hospital treatment. If your spouse or children live with you throughout your course they are also entitled to free hospital treatment. More information can be found from the Department of Health.
Help with healthcare costs
Full time students under the age of 19 do not have to pay prescription charges. If you are over 19 and on a low income you may be able to get help with healthcare costs. The HNC1 claim form is available from Doctor's Surgery or Student Life Advice Desk at University House.
