Financial Support
If you are a student with children you may be eligible for extra financial help.
Full Time Undergraduate Students:
You may qualify for extra financial help on top of your Student Finance package;
- Childcare Grant
- Parent Learning Allowance
- Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
- Disabled Students Allowance
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
- Salford Bursaries
Part Time Students:
As a part-time student you are able to apply for:
- Fee Grant
- Course Grant (to cover living costs)
- Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
- Disabled Students Allowance
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
Unfortunately you are not eligible for a Salford bursary.
Post-Graduate Students:
There can be a lot of competition for post-graduate funding so it is best to apply as early as possible.
You may be eligible for support from:
- Support from a research council or charitable organisation
- Sponsorship from a workplace
- Studentship from university
- Career development loan or an MBA loan
- Government funding for teacher training and certain medical and social work courses
- Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
- Disabled Students Allowance (DSA)
Disabled Students:
If you have a disability you may be entitled to claim extra financial help with studying. These are paid on top of your student finance package;
