Managing Your Money

Your student funding may seem like a lot when it lands in your bank account, but you’ll be surprised how quickly it disappears if you aren’t careful! Developing a few good habits and taking the time to think about your spending can make a big difference to your wallet. Our money saving tips will help you make the most of your cash:

How to budget

Saving money at home

Saving money out and about

Opening a bank account

Increasing Income

If things go wrong

If you do get into financial difficulty, it is important to ask for help. Debts will only grow if you ignore them, and a bad credit rating can cause you problems later. You can discuss your finances with a Student Life adviser, or confidentially contact the National Debt Line or the Citizen’s Advice Bureau. In certain circumstances you may also be eligible for help from the Access to Learning Fund.
