University of Salford Bursaries - September 2010 Starters

The University of Salford bursaries are assessed automatically on your student finance form, so there is no need to apply separately. Simply make sure you give consent for the University to see your details.

The bursaries and scholarships listed on this page are for students starting in the academic year 2010/2011. Follow this link for information on bursaries for 2011/12 starters.

 

 

 

The University has a range of bursaries for UK and EU undergraduate students, which are paid each year of your course. These are paid on top of your student loan and government grants. If you are eligible for more than one bursary you will be paid a combination of up to £1000. Payment is subject to eligibility.

Please note that the following are the bursaries for students whose course started in the academic year 2010/11. Please follow this link for information on the bursaries for student starting courses in September 2011.

  • The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship
    £1000 for each year of study, if you receive AAB or equivalent.
     
  • The Salford Community Bursary
    £500 each year if you are living in Salford three months before you apply to university. (postcodes M3, M5, M6, M7, M50, M30, M44, M27, M28, M38)
     
  • The Salford Subject Bursary
    £1000 each year if you take an eligible course in Physics, Engineering or Modern Languages.
     
  • The Global Placement Bursary
    £500 for one semester or £1000 for two semesters spent in full time study abroad as part of a formal exchange or placement. Please note, EU students will not receive a bursary for time spent in their home country. 

The following bursary isdifferent, because itcan be paid in addition to the ones above. So even if you are eligible for a bursary in the list above, you will get this extra money on top

  • The Salford University Bursary
    £384 each year for students who receive the full Higher Education Maintenance Grant.
